Terms of Service for Saldo APP

1. Acceptance of Terms

Saldo APP (the "Service") is developed and operated by an individual developer based in the State of Florida, United States ("we", "our", "us"). You can reach us at yourfinancetrackrapp@gmail.com.

By downloading, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Saldo APP is a personal financial management application that allows you to track expenses and income, manage bills and subscriptions, set savings goals, and optionally connect bank accounts through Plaid Inc. ("Plaid") to automatically sync balances and transactions. The Service uses AI (via Google's Gemini API) to help extract and categorize transaction data from photos of receipts, uploaded bank statements, and text you dictate. When you dictate, iOS sends the audio to Apple to transcribe it; only the resulting text is sent to Google. See our Privacy Policy for details.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. The Service is not directed to, and may not be used by, anyone under 18. By using the Service you represent that you are 18 or older. If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 18, we will close it and delete the associated data.

4. Not Financial Advice

Saldo APP is a bookkeeping and tracking tool. It does not provide financial, investment, tax, or legal advice. Any insights, trends, or budget suggestions shown in the Service (such as spending trend comparisons or predictive budget suggestions) are generated from your own data using local statistical calculations or AI, are provided for informational purposes only, and should not be relied upon as professional advice. You are solely responsible for your financial decisions.

5. Accuracy of AI-Extracted and Synced Data

Features that use AI to read receipts, transcribe voice input, or parse bank/credit card statements are automated and may occasionally produce inaccurate results (incorrect amounts, merchants, or categories). Data synced from your bank via Plaid reflects information provided by your financial institution and may be delayed or incomplete. You are responsible for reviewing and correcting any transaction before relying on it.

6. Your Account and Responsibilities

• You must provide accurate registration information and are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.
• You agree not to use the Service for any unlawful purpose or to misrepresent transactions or financial data.
• You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.

7. Your Content and Information About Other People

You may upload photos, documents and text to the Service, including receipts, bank statements and payment screenshots. You keep ownership of that content. You grant us a limited licence to store it and to transmit it to the third-party providers listed in Section 8, solely to provide the features you asked for.

Some of what you enter may describe other people. For example, a debt record may contain someone's name, and a payment screenshot may show a name, phone number or email address. Bank descriptions synced through Plaid may also include the names of people you send money to or receive money from.

You are responsible for what you choose to enter. By uploading or entering it, you confirm that you have the right to share that information with us, and you agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any third-party claim, demand, loss or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of information about other people that you provide without having the right to do so, or out of your breach of these Terms. This obligation survives termination of your account.

8. Third-Party Services

The Service integrates with third-party providers, including Plaid (for bank connectivity), Google Firebase (for authentication and data storage), Google's Gemini API (for AI-assisted data extraction), and Apple (for speech transcription). Your use of these integrations is also subject to those providers' own terms and policies. Saldo APP is not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or practices of these third-party services.

We use Plaid Inc. ("Plaid") to gather your data from financial institutions. By using the Service you grant Saldo APP and Plaid the right, power and authority to act on your behalf to access and transmit your personal and financial information from your financial institution. You acknowledge and agree that your information will be treated in accordance with Plaid's End User Privacy Policy, available at plaid.com/legal.

9. Free and Paid Features

Manual expense and income tracking is free. Some features cost us money to operate, in particular bank synchronisation through Plaid and AI-assisted extraction through Google's Gemini API. These may be offered as paid features or usage tiers so that the Service can cover its own running costs.

Any purchase is made through the Apple App Store and is subject to Apple's terms. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You manage and cancel subscriptions in your Apple Account settings, not in the Service. Refunds are handled by Apple under its own policy; we cannot issue them directly.

We may change what is free and what is paid, and may change prices. Where a change affects a subscription you already hold, it will take effect at the start of your next renewal period, not during the current one.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fully secure.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, punitive, or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, revenue, profits, or financial loss, arising out of or related to your use of the Service.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for all claims arising out of or related to the Service will not exceed the greater of (a) the total amount you paid us in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) fifty US dollars (US$50).

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.

12. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access to the Service if these Terms are violated. Upon account deletion, your data is handled as described in our Privacy Policy.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

14. Apple App Store

These Terms are between you and Saldo APP only, not with Apple Inc. ("Apple"). Saldo APP, not Apple, is solely responsible for the Service and its content. Apple has no obligation to provide any maintenance or support for the Service. Apple is not responsible for addressing any claims you have relating to the Service, including product liability claims, claims that the Service fails to conform to any legal or regulatory requirement, and claims arising under consumer protection or similar legislation. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms, and upon your acceptance of these Terms Apple will have the right to enforce them against you as a third-party beneficiary.

15. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, United States, without regard to its conflict of law principles.

Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in the State of Florida, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.

You and we agree that each may bring claims against the other only in an individual capacity, and not as a plaintiff or class member in any purported class or representative proceeding.

16. General

If any provision of these Terms is held to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force. These Terms are the entire agreement between you and Saldo APP regarding the Service. You may not assign these Terms; we may assign them in connection with a transfer of the Service.
